Commercial cleaning checklist and walk-through

Two documents in one: a room-by-room task checklist with daily, weekly and monthly columns, and a walk-through form that captures what a bid needs. Add your details, then print it blank and take it on site.

The checklist is your quality record and your bid worksheet

A ticked checklist is proof the work was done. It settles "the restrooms weren't cleaned" before it becomes an argument, and it keeps a new crew member on the same standard as you. Print it blank, leave a column for initials, and it doubles as a service log the client can see.

The walk-through form is the other half. Before you can bid an account you have to measure it: square footage, floor types, restroom fixtures, traffic, access, and the cleaning window. Fill this in on the walk, and the numbers drop straight into a cleaning proposal.

Common questions

What should a commercial cleaning checklist include?

A task list broken down by area (entrance, restrooms, offices, break room, floors, trash), with a column for how often each task is done (daily, weekly, monthly). Printed blank, the crew ticks each task as they finish it, which is both a quality record and proof of service for the client.

How do I do a cleaning walk-through before a bid?

Walk the building and record the inputs a price depends on: total square footage, floor types and rough percentages, restroom count and fixtures, kitchens and meeting rooms, traffic level, access and security, and the cleaning window. The walk-through form on this page captures each of those so nothing is guessed later.

How do I decide daily vs weekly vs monthly frequency?

Daily covers anything that affects health or first impressions: restrooms, trash, entrance glass, high-traffic floors. Weekly covers dusting, vacuuming low-traffic areas, and detail wiping. Monthly covers deep tasks like floor buffing, vents and baseboards. Match the frequency to traffic, and price the account from the total time it adds up to.

How does the checklist turn into a price?

The walk-through gives you the areas, fixtures and frequency; from those you estimate the time per visit, and time × your man-hour rate is the per-visit price. Put that on a proposal with the scope and frequency, and you have a bid a facility manager can compare.

Turn the walk-through into a bid with the cleaning proposal template, and set your per-visit price with the house cleaning price calculator.
